Case Study Questions
Electrolytes are minerals in your blood and other body fluids that carry an electric charge. They replenish what you lose in sweat. Glucose is sugar which is good for energy. Melanin is a pigment that gives human skin, hair, and eyes their color. Since Mark lost 4 liters he would have lost 27% His urinary volume would decrease because he is dehydrated. His blood pressure was low because he was dehydrated and his pulse would be low. Since he lost so much body fluid, that's why he was dizzy. He would have a lot of Vitamin D because vitamin D has to do with the sun. If he brought beer along it would not be a good idea because, it takes away your vitamin B, and it causes you to be thirsty. To increase the burn Mark took off his shirt and hat thinking it would help. Since Mark was dehydrated you would see the redness very soon.

Stem Cell Research
The view on stem cell research is caught in the middle. Some scientists believe it's a great thing to keep researching because this could improve future genetic problems. Other scientists think that it's not a good idea, because there are limits to this. Some could go overboard and cause problems and also mutations.
Pharmacologists view on stem cell research is that cells have the potential to revolutionize drug discovery by providing a model for any human cell type of drug development. The new generation may contribute to replace animal testing and decrease drug attrition. Using stem cell research could decrease the struggle of autoimmune diseases which could cost the government less. Animal testing is an issue to begin with, but using the research could decrease animal testing by increasing medical cures. Meaning that there are cures you wouldn't have to test on animals. Drug costs would decrease because finding cures would lessen the amount of drug usage.
My view on this subject is that this is a great idea. I do believe that you can find cures and solve a lot of medical issues. You could possibly find the cure for cancer, decrease animal testing, and you could save money by not buying as many drugs, because you wouldn't have to take as many to help you.

1. I have completed the cell shapes. I have looked into a microscope and copied the images down to for the different cell types.
2. I have learned about Epithelial, Connective, Nervous and Muscle. I've learned about tissue repair also.
3. I am planning to pass my test next week ( hopefully) I will study and get the material down for what I need to pass.
