Essay for case study questions

Muscles contract when a nerve cell reaches its muscle cell causing  positive and negative charges to switch back and forth. MH is a disease that is passed down through families which causes a fast rise in body temperature and muscle contractions when anesthesia is injected. MH is triggered by drugs used for anesthesia.
The metabolic storm that develops is an allergic reaction that would give rapid heart rate, abnormal blood pressure, muscle stiffness, etc. It can disrupt the nervous system which affects the whole body. Temperature rises because of the muscles working harder to fight. Usually you don't know that you have MH unless you undergo surgery. If you know that one of your parents have it you can be tested.
Dantrolene can be used to treat MH. It treats the high temperature. It works by restoring a normal level of calcium in the muscles. It doesn't impact smooth or cardiac muscle because it only occurs in certain individuals who are genetically affected.
